If you like heavyweight house music, ‘When I’ is a prize fighter with a knock out, vocal hook uppercut. The arrangement swings like a lumberjack with a shiny new axe and could take down an Amazon rainforest with its seismic beats and undulating subs. Ruede Hagelstein drops the vocal and rebuilds the body rhythmically from the claves and blocks to the frenetic drum rolls and the bassline which engorges its throbbing arteries. Cuartero drill deeper still, hyper-cycling the vocal like a drill bit searching for the earth’s core and dropping a bass so heavy that even a carrying the MP3 requires an excess baggage fee. Joyce Muniz twists a dark bassline around some hallucinogenic psychedelic acid and Strangers In Heaven become your heavenly new best friends. Buy it. That’s all.
