Triumph – Wall Of Hope – (Espai Music)

Barcelona-based producer Triumph’s also released on labels such as Bedrock, Rebirth and Suara, so his is a talent that’s nor for questioning. As you’d imagine from a roll call like the one we just mentioned, his own label, Espai, is very often a medium for his celebrated jams and such is the case once more on the lovely named Wall of Hope EP, whereby he really comes to the fore thanks to an original and two extremely complimentary remixes. Seeing us in the sounds of ‘Wall of Hope’ itself. A dizzyingly diverse jem that’s been primed for eclectic, encouraging and knowledgeable floors only, it starts off on a vehemently underground and dark and ominous vibe before the producer almost starts all over with a bassline that’s rich with textured motifs. Clip!’s remix offers a more sturdy and thorough workout, as he practically brings the original towards techno territory on his solid and robust interpretation. Full of zippy, uncompromising synths and clever drums that hang in the bottom end, it’s a fitting way to pay homage to the merits of the original. On that tip, 6tma’s remix is a ravey anthem that could well have been lifted from the late ‘80s or the vaults of Carl Craig. A sure fire jam that’ll go down a storm wherever it’s allowed to roam free, it’s my pick of a very impressive litter.
