I am addicted to the ‘Can’t Get Enough’ EP : the first solo artist foray from Parachute Youth’s Johnny Courtidis aka Johnny Castro now better known as Yeah Boy. From the first piano notes, punctuation finger snaps and ‘ooh aah aah ahh ahh ahh ooh aah aah aah aah’ vocal loop catnip of the title track ‘Can’t Get Enough’, Yeah Boy proves his spotless pop pedigree. There’s also a fuller funk workout doing the hype blog rounds from Sam Padrul that has already garnered support and plaudits from Radio 1 tastemakers Sam Taggart and Alice Lavine and Danny Howard for his Dance Anthems show so you know it’s got good taste. ‘Tell Me’ is a finely crafted, sexy, dirty electro pop seduction with lyrics that wouldn’t sound out of place cascading from Justin Timberlake’s mouth. And to close – ‘Take It All’ is a deep house lothario with a bassline that plunges deeper than a barmaid’s neckline, a vocal that swoops and dives with the ease of an eagle, and an arrangement littered with atmospheric pearls and effects. If music is what feelings sound like, then the ‘Can’t Get Enough’ EP is a multiple orgasm.
