Richard Thair and Jake One aka Toob are joined by Alpha’s Wendy Stubbs for an off kilter romp around a steamy dancefloor. “Dervish Angel” is a tale of “Push Me Pull You” love gone sour, like a dangerous addiction that you can’t shake off, you crave to have just one more hit, knowing that it’s gonna totally finish you off. In it’s original form Toob get the vibe spot on, working infectious rhythms and subtle seedy atmospherics that make you wanna rip your partners clothes off down the back alley under the fizzing neon. On the remix front Clouded Vision pump it up and add some acid licks, whilst Woos floats through a cloud of spawning plankton. “Dervish Angel” is the sexiest record of 2008 and should be played at every Xmas party, the results would be devastating.
