What can I say about Made By Pete? He has to be one of my favourite new producers on 2015/2016 – from DFTD to Mad Tech to Simma Red and Black, his productions and remixes are consistently banging and he is also an all-round nice guy to boot. HIs ‘Drunk In Chicago EP’ is a jacking house double header that makes the walls shake and the house quake. The title track ‘Drunk In Chicago’ is a heavy foot stomper that will have you treading an easy furrow through its titanium lined groove accompanied by the ‘it was about 6.15 in the morning, I’m drunk and I’m high and I’m in chicago’ low vocal. What’s not to love here? It broods, it swaggers, it lopes and lurches then it steadies itself with countless swigs from the bottle hits and dinky synths. ‘I Like It Lucy’ is a sleazy, growling groove with ricocheting handclaps, distant crowd noises and MC prompts to spin your disco ball off its axis. This is what makes the underground so damned seductive. Top marks, nice one Pete. You did good. Again.
