Dr. Rubberfunk Ft. John Turrell
Northern Comfort
Jalapeno

In its Original and purist form this languid funker sounds like the bastard offspring of Wilson Pickett or Sly Stone with Bootsy Collins on bass the Godfather in waiting. So raw, gritty and down right irresistible is this funk, with a more then reverent nod to the past, it oozes of live musicianship, passion, and above all, respect for all that’s gone before. After his last outting with Roachford on the equally seductive ‘Trouble Woman’, the good Doctor now turns to UK soul heir apparent, John Turrell, front man of R&B hotshots Smoove & Turrell. Throw a Rhodes-fired club mix from Slynk, and the sitar psychedelic funk of ‘Bombay Bossa’ into the mix, and once again you’ve five men a dancing.
