PETAR DUNDOV – AT THE TURN OF EQUILIBRIUM – MUSIC MAN RECORDS

Five albums down the road for Petar Dundov, and still the quality threshold remains high. This is a producer who fine-tunes his art but also wants it to be emotional, and as a result it always feels like his instrumental music is telling stories. Despite its title, ‘At The Turn Of Equilibrium’ keeps up that trend.

‘Before It All Ends’ is carefully and beautifully constructed, with warm bursts of sound, while ‘Mist’ has a broad reach, thanks to its lovely pad sounds and a surprising amount of activity in the inner workings. Dundov’s music is brightly lit and really nicely poised, with most of the tracks here at a slow disco tempo, though the closing ‘Everlasting Love’ soars without a drum beat. Another excellent piece of work from a Croatian producer whose star deserves to shine even brighter this time around.
