DEEP’N’DENSE
AFTER MIDNIGHT
STEALTH

Surely Roger Sanchez knows a good tune when he hears one. The NY DJ had no hesitation when he received the first CDR in circulation of this catchy disco-house song, he signed it straight away to his Stealth imprint. After a string of remixes including Faithless’ ‘Mass Destruction’, Deep’n’Dense aka producer/DJ Andrea Gorgerino (a Milanese based in London) delivers a strong debut single where soulful female vocals contrast healthily with schizo b-line and pumping beat. Based on a chord progression reminiscent of Patrice Rushen’s ‘Forget Me Nots’, ‘After Midnight’ is of the classy seventies kind, fluid and lush sounding, with tasteful filtering and modern structure tricks. The original has a timeless latin feel whereas the re-rubs from the likes of Nikos, Alex Romano and Scars & Deela go for the tribal jugular.
