Whenever a new track from WhoMadeWho is announced, my heart starts jumpin as they are one of a very few acts who manage to come up with serious vocals on an electronic track without sounding cheesy. Even the pop influenced Original of ‘Hi & Low’ is a version you easily fall in love with, thanks to the melancholic vibe and smooth vox.
Konstantin Sibold’s remix shares a bit more with the original, keeping the cool vibe and bouncing basslines to create a looser, more relaxed groove which has SUMMER written all over.
M.A.N.D.Y.’s ‘Higher & Lower’ remix feeds on an alternative vibe, with traditional approaches taking a backseat to a more independent and organic approach, while still letting the machines speak.
Mineo’s perspective is as captivating as it is elegant. The chopping and screwing paired with the brilliant and original synth work emits a refreshing original vibe, with influences from diverse genres to be heard throughout.
For me the key remix however comes from Emanuel Satie, who strips the track down to the bones; giving the focus to the diverse elements before slowly rising into a tech-house killer which leads to serious frenzy on any floor near you! Superb track, mega remix pack!
