Andy Ward (Soul Heaven)

1. Bah Samba – Live in the Summer – Favouritizm
One of the UK’s most respected live acts, here it’s easy to see why.  I am very honoured to have been a part of this release and am really pleased how my mix has been received.

2. Eman – Flipscapes (Mr V rmx) – Liberate
One of the catchiest riffs I have heard in a while, I love the groove and the lyrics are on point.  This is going to be big with me for some time.

3. Rainy Payne – Unspoken – Sounds of the Booth
Debut release for my new label, highlighting the amazing lyrical talent of Rainy Payne.  Two sets of mixes to chose from, the Park Street affair which is really sweet musically, or my mixes which are just dance floor killers.

4. Phil Asher presents Restless Soul – 9 minutes of Fun – restless soul music
No nonsense  footwork business, how else could you describe this track ?  Essential for the soulful floors to give the lift at the right time.

5. Soul Purpose – Homage – soul purpose
Throwing back to the mid 90’s with this wonderful piece of house music.  Everything about this track is spot on for me, the drums, the groove and the way Martin Ikin has managed to capture a golden era and translate it into today’s sound.

6. Michele McCain – All I Can Do – unsigned
Another excellent package of mixes on this track, as yet unsigned.  Big vocal delivery with mixes from Brazillian Soul Crew, yours truly and a monster remix out of Philly from Mr Gene Leone.  Watch out for this.

7. Andy Ward – My September Song – Sounds of the Booth
A modern day love song that I am sure will hit home with many lovers from the White Isle.  A complete package of mixes give us our 2nd release on the label and I am particularly excited about the Soul de Marin remix, Todd Edward flavours for 2009.

8. Angela Johnson- Better – label nk
Contender for my tune of the year.  Micky Moore has come up with a classic sounding house track that has been one of the most consistently requested tunes on my radio show over recent weeks.  Miss Johnson sounds so sweet over this kind of a track, and the live orchestration does her total justice.

9. Arnold Jarvis & DJN Project – Wake Up – Soul Heaven
20 years in the business and still one of the best.  DJN Project are switching things up in 2009 and I look forward to some big things they have lined up, bringing the gap between credible house and mainstream artists.

10. Soul Renegades – Oh Yeah – restless soul music
Another contender for tune of the year, recently teaming up and producing this anthem, Ricky Reid and Craig Smith are definitely turning heads and I cannot wait to give this a spin at the Vocal Booth 10yr celebrations in Spain, in October.

Andy Ward ‘My September Song’ will be released on Wednesday 2nd September. Catch Andy live from Spain every thu from 8pm GMT for 3 hours of the finest music, inside The Vocal Booth. For full information on this, and the 10 year celebrations in Spain this October, go to www.djandyward.net
