Kid Blue

1) Kid Blue – Speak Freak (Lot49)
The lead track from my new EP – it’s a bass-driven electro techno track that has been huge every time I’ve played it. It might seem like shameless self-promotion putting it at number one but I genuinely can’t wait to play it every time I’m out.

2) D-Nox & Beckers – Cala A Boco Meat Katie Remix (Sprout)
I always look out for D-Nox and Beckers’ tracks, and their Sprout label is really consistent, so I was excited to hear that Meaty would be remixing them. He’s turned out a cracking remix, one of his best tracks in the past couple of years.

3) Popof – Shades (Forme)
This has been around for a couple of months now but it’s my favourite thing that Popof has done and I’m still playing it all the time. Anthemic techno with a head melting arpeggiated lead line.

4) Jamie McHugh – H20 James Harcourt Remix (Underwater)
James Harcourt’s recent tracks have just got better and better, and this is exactly the sort of track that I like to play in my sets – bouncing, bleepy, some big builds and filthy bass!

5) 808 State – Pacific State Rudi Stakker Remix (CDR)
Cheeky bootleg that’s been doing the rounds since the back end of last year but has never seen the light of day. Trademark Rudi Stakker drums with the classic sax riff that lifts the room every time you play it, great stuff.

6) Arrow!!! – The Giant Kid Blue Remix (Aux)
Probably the deepest production I’ve released – I’m really happy with it. A pretty simple techno riff gets warped and wrapped around big warm bass and the piano stabs from the original. Works really well, I think I’ll be doing a few more like this.

7) Dylan Rhymes & Tom Real – Godzilla (Lot49)
From the Lot49 5th anniversary compilation coming up later this year. This track has driving bass, a ravey lead line and is so tightly produced it sounds amazing whatever system you play it on.

8) Fever Ray – Triangle Walks Spektre Remix (Rabid Records)
I really like Fever Ray anyway, and Spektre have taken the vocal and created a great track around it with haunting melody lines. The vocal reminds me of the Trentemoller remix of ‘We Share Our Mother’s Health’, which is no bad thing.

9) Zombie Nation – Worth It Arveene & Misk Remix (Turbo Recordings)
A really cool electro track on Turbo, which is one of my favourite labels at the moment – their A&R is great and they have some fantastic remixers too. This is noisy and funky in equal measures.

10) Timo Garcia – Boom Kid Blue Remix (Berwick Street)
I actually finished this remix a while ago but it’s not coming out until July – straight up electro banger with a tweaking acid line that I’ve been playing to death. Always works for me, it’ll almost be a shame when it comes out and won’t be my exclusive anymore!
