Loved Pablo Fierro’s take on Floyd’s Masala, the African ethnic vocals and melodic whistle that keeps coming back gives so much good energy when playing the track, definitely will keep playing this beauty over and over.

Brilliant Gnawa twist from Morocco, fantastic remix by Moroccan producer FNX.

 

4. Shakedown – At Night (Peggy Gou’s Acid Journey Remix) – Defected Records

Crushing seven-minute bomb, with a rolling acid rhythm, saturated synths, crazy breakdowns and irresistible after-hours charm. Peggy never dissapoints.

 

5. Jovan Vucetic – Bloom (Cee El Assaad & Sound of Mint Remix) – Griffintown Records

It was an absolute pleasure to work on the remix with Cee El Assaad one of the most brilliant Afro House producers in world and master percussionist / film music composer Joel Pellegrini 1/2 of Sound of Mint, who plays the addictive African Balafon melodies recorded on the track! Would definitely collaborate again my eyes closed’.

Pure stunner remix from West & Hill on the superb Layalina from Moroccan Afro House producer Mr. ID, those synths on the track gives it so much drive!

Addictive percussive rhyhtm remix by Blackkdraft and such a graceful vocal from Chelsea Como!

 

8. Christos Fourkis – Beats & Djembe (Mark Francis Organ Remix) – Retrolounge Records

Splendid djembe percussions with such masterful organ melodies played by Mark Francis, this is one of the best Afro-housy tracks I’ve heard in years.

 

9. Santiago Garcia – Changalia – Sudam Recordings

The melody in this tracks gives me chills down my spine, we played during a live performance on a rooftop in Marrakech in an intimate setting where a Gnawa musician improvised on the track and it created an unforgettable memory for us & the crowd that attended the show.

 

10. Baaba Maal – Fulani Rock (Henrik Schwarz Remix) – Palm Recordings

‘Berlin Meets Senegal’s Baaba Maal’s ”Fulani Rock” with a dazzling Henrik Schwarz’ Remix. This has become an absolute classic for us & we loved improvising on this one during our last live performance on a beautiful rooftop in Casablanca, Morocco – https://youtu.be/8LpdvFeekeY @ 24min 28.
