Trainspotting with Makz Stanley

Trainspotting with Makz Stanley

The tunes you are dancing to this weekend. Get ready to roll…

1. Bruno Furlan, Kyle Watson – Marshmallows (Dirtybird)
Starting of with a fresh one from the Dirtybird crew, Kyle Watson and Bruno Furian teamed up for this very distinctive track, which really fits the dirtybird sound.

2. Low Steppa – On The One (Food Music)
“On the One” is all about that deep underwater-sounding bassline and the amazing house vocal, combined to deliver a soulful banger on the dance floor.

3. Low Steppa, Martin Ikin – Kontrol (Simma Black)
The label of Low Steppa never ceases to amaze me, releases are always on point. Yet another proof is the release by the label boss himself and another of my favourite artists in the genre, Martin Ikin.

4. Makz Stanley – Fragile (Lauter Unfug Music)
This track was released a month ago on our label compilation ‘Lauter Freunde’. It plays at 119bpm and at first, the elevating melody takes you way up, in order for the bass to get your body and your soul to vibrate when it comes to the chorus.

5. Do Santos, Who Else – Hypnotic (Playmobil)
Playmobil is the subsidiary of Material Records which focuses on the techno releases. Do Santos delivered a great banger for peak times with the track ‘Hypnotic’.

6. DJ Dozia – Pop Culture (KiNK Mix) (Ovum Recordings)
The original was a house classic, but i really liked what KiNK did with the mix, it’s a pure banger when played at the right time of the night.

7. Simon Shaw – Shades Of Red (Lauter Unfug Music)
I had a lot of fun remixing this track, the original is spot on!

8. Mark Reeve – Run Back (Drumcode)
Love the offset bass stab on this one. Tracks like this blend in very nicely with my rather bass-heavy sets.

9. Justin Martin – Ghettos and Gardens (Claude VonStroke Beverly Hills Coyote Mix) (Dirtybird)
The Dirtybird boss himself remixed this track as no other would have. The energy of the bassline is beyond compare. I’ve been playing this in almost every set lately.

10. Marc Spence – Nasty (This Ain’t Bristol)
And finally, this track really has a unique energy to it. Every dance floor was shaking when this got dropped. Absolute banger, released on Billy Kenny’s label ‘This Ain’t Bristol’.

Simon Shaw ‘Shades Of Red’ (Incl. Makz Stanley, Timid Boy, Matchy & Bott and Remixes) is out now on Lauter Unfug.
