Sally DMC reflects on the first ever DMC Online DJ competition.
Year One. Done!
Ok, so yes when we discussed doing a DMC online competition late December, I thought yes this could go down very well, but I thought it might take a couple of years to get going. How wrong I was. To think the idea was conceived late December, and we had the site up and launched by Feb 3rd, it was a miracle!
The hard work has paid off though! So so so happy with the success and results of this competition in year 1. We had over 2000 DJs sign up and over 300 entrants. We had Thousaaaaands of voters signing up too! Over ONE MILLION views on youtube in just 6 months.
Our sponsors deserve a special mention for coming on board and supporting this concept and event before we had even launched, so big big thank you to Rane, Serato, Sennheiser, Novation, Pioneer and Native Instruments. We will always appreciate your belief in DMC and your willingness to share this all-equipment platform with one another regardless of being in a competing market.
Congratulations to every single DJ that took part in this event in its first year! You did great, and we hope to see you and more DJs next year! DJ UNKUT will now join the rest of the National Champions in the final hurdle – The DMC World Finals! Book your tickets now for the DMC World Final weekend!!!! Its going to be the best world final we have had in years, trust me!
This is the first event we have ever done where YOU, the public have an input and say as to WHO the Champions are! Congratulations to every single one of you, and thank you to everyone for their continued support, you know who you are!
I feel so positive and driven to make next year even better!
We will be publishing all the votes from ALL the finalists, where they placed and eventually, we will post up all the votes from every round, so you can see where you came!
