Back To Mine with E-dward

Edoardo Scarpellini aka E-dward! was born in Tuscany in 1988. After several years spent playing at local clubs, especially at Kama Kama in Lucca, he gets a residency at Re:flex Club in 2008. Within a few years, he manages to play the hottest Italian clubs and festivals, such as Cocoricò in Riccione, Spazio 900 in Roma, Tenax and Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Tinì Soundgarden, Ritual (Baja Sardinia), Elita Festival in Milan, Fiesta Privada in Rome, to name a few. Thanks to these career-changing experiences, he has the opportunity to share the decks with some of the world’s greatest artists. 
Meanwhile, he embarks on the journey of music production and, in less than five years, he releases three albums, a long series of EPs, and several remixes on highly-respected underground labels such as Bosconi, Stardub and Apparel Music. Ranging from 87 to 130 bpm, his releases feature nuances of multiple genres, from Disco to Techno. His tastes are heavily rooted in old-school music, allowing him to reinterpret the sounds of Chicago house and Detroit techno in a modern, unexpected and magnetizing way. 
Edoardo also wants to talk to us about his next track that will be released soon only vinyl for the Italian label Introspection Recordings. “Got it” is one of the first steps to another musical direction I’m taking in the last years. After over a decade playing all the shapes of electronic music I finally found my dimension and I started to produce a sort of micro, deep and minimal sound between house and techno. It’s a pleasure for me to share a record with a passion-based label like Introspection; a project full of promising and interesting artists.

Back To Mine Lorenzo Magnozzi

“Music is freedom of introspection.” Eclectic, multifaceted and hypnotic, this is the slogan with which Lorenzo Magnozzi presents himself. For him music is an elementary presupposition necessary for life, an instrument of liberation and love. 
He was born in Pisa, a great Italian city for art, in 1992 and fell in love with electronic music very early listening to the old rave recordings of the Italian techno movement of the 90s and coming into contact with artists such as Sven Ricardo Villalobos, Plastikman, Underworld , and Luciano. 
Lorenzo took his first steps on dj booth around 2006 at the age of 14 and his passion for music led him to fall in love early with music traveling in clubs and festivals around Europe from Frankfurt to Ibiza, from the UK to Netherlands, from Spain to France collecting numerous vinyl records from all over the world, discovering new places, new people and new sounds. 
His music is ugly to categorize it, it’s an introspection of himself, his tracks are played and supported by many international artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Dana Ruh, Raresh, Tobi Neumann and Nastia, also since 2015 has also given life to his label record Introspection Recordings, a platform of artists and musicians, a fusion of music and art, a union of all the elements, physical and psychological to create a single identity.
His DJ sets are the result of a creative and inventive research that can vary from House to Techno through the most diverse sound atmospheres creating environments where reality overcomes imagination.
 – I’m happy to have a chat with DMC Magazine and i wanted to take this opportunity to talk about the upcoming release of my Introspection recordings.

The debut offering from Italian label Introspection is nothing if not an auspicious one. Featuring four tracks from an evidently shrewdly chosen bunch of artists, Introspection001 takes on numerous different styles and sounds, with the end result one that’s thoroughly uncompromising and always engaging throughout. Featuring the work of four Italian producers; E-dward!, Matthew Redden, Lorenzo Magnozzi and BCFHBH, it’s a release that dazzles from start to finish. –

A piece that lights up the magic on the first light of dawn. I heard for the first time this record in 2011 during a DJ set by Ricardo Villalobos, it was 5 am and everything was going as it should, the dancefloor was going crazy, and the magic was in the air, I discovered this record and soon after I bought that. A collection of remixes on vinyl of One Of Our Submarines by Thomas Dolby on Salz Music with beautiful remixes by Villalobos, Axel Erbstober, Ramon Zenker, Oliver Bondzio and Paul Sebastien. Goosebumps.

Stakker – Stakker Humanoid (Radio Edit)

The big smile on the cover says everything. A double album released by Westside Records made in UK in 1988. Pure acid, I love this tune.

 

Soul Capsule – Lady Science (NYC Sunrise)

Who knows it knows it. A classic tune, a piece that needs no introduction. History teaches.

 

Palms Trax – In Gold

For those who have heard me play often, he will surely have recognized this track. I have so much respect and much esteem for Palms Trax, love him, and this record I play it all the time since it was released a few years ago.

Eleanor – Adventure (Extended) (1987)

Electronic Synth Pop from the 80s, nothing better for me. I deeply love this piece, the bass line and Eleanor’s voice. A track to party, a track to be happy, share love and positive vibes.

 

Chris Wood & Christian Burkhardt – Bed & Butter (Einzelkind Iceberg Slim Megamix)

Three evil minds behind a truly unique piece. Fresh to release on the Oblack label, this remix of Einzelkind is in my dj set from the summer just left, always present. A unique thing that crosses many musical visions, the changes with which the different parts of the soul are touched are unique. A visionary track that will remain over the years. Masterpiece.
