1. Blackstreet – No Diggity
I am huge fan of Teddy Riley. I had the pleasure to meet him the first year I moved to LA, which was amazing. Always loved Backstreet and pretty much everything Teddy made.
2. R.Kelly- Be Happy
I really loved R Kellys earlier stuff, he combined the slick r&b with hard hip hop beats. Biggie killed the track with his rap.
3. Aaliyah – Try Again
I remember the day she passed, it was on my birthday. Such a tragic accident and huge loss for us all. She came to Stockholm and performed in a small club, had the honor to be there. She was something really special. If you haven’t heard this track before you need to!
4. JOE – Player
Joes silky voice on a classic Darkchild production, LOVE it.
5. Michael Jacksson – Billy Jean
There will be no one like Michael ever… I think he is the best singer and best performer of all time. This is a classic. Thank you for this Michael and Quincy! You made me wanna be just like you.
6. Maxwell – Sumthin’ Sumthin’
When this one came out, DAMN, that was the only song I listened to for weeks. Also good for a romantic dinner or more.
7. Jodeci – Freek ‘N You
P.Diddy, just saying, what a genius a&r. He understood that smooth vocals with real hip hop beats was the perfect marriage. Diddy is also one of those Ive looked up to, and still do.
8. Mary J Blige – Reminisce
The queen, what else can I say. If you haven’t heard this one you been missing out! No one has more soul then this lady!
9. Shai – If I Ever Fall In Love
Me and my buddy Luis used to try to sing this song to the ladies, it didn’t work that well. It was truly a life changing moment when I met Carl Martin, who wrote and performed the song. When Carl put down his vocals on my remake on this song it was pure magic. I hope you can feel it.
10. Donny Hathway – A Song For You
Wow Wow Wow, true legend. Love this, so much soul, so much heart.
