Back to Mine with Kimyan Law

Amon Tobin – Journeyman

I’ve known this one for years, and it never stops to stun me. The whole track is very naturally building up, like the beginning of a story.

Burial – Ghost Hardware

Just one of many tracks from Burial, a huge inspiration for me in general. It almost feels like an ancient type of music, completely unique to its core.

Björk – Crystalline

Much love for this one. There is so much going on but nothing is clashing or interfering the flow of the track.

Aphex Twin – Vordhosbn

This track accompanied me for more than ten years now. A wonderful example of order in what seems to be chaos.

Spectrasoul – Knuckle Waltz

The atmospheres, grooves and the dynamic – everything seems assorted and very carefully chosen, that’s what makes it special for me.

Moody Good – The March Of The Hallowed Duck

This expresses pure ease for me. The sounds are interacting so effortlessly, which makes it delightful… sort of.

Noisia & Amon Tobin – Sunhammer

A surreal and detailed piece of art. Only listening to it will teach you so much about designing sound and cinematic music.

Two Fingers – Cashew Rhythm

In this case it’s probably the weird electrifying energy and laid back groove. Both simple and complex in its own way.

Culprate – Yin

I can hear influences from everywhere; the sound range is incredible and very forward thinking in my opinion.

Halogenix – Beyond The Bounds

I like this track because it has a very mellow but refreshing coldness. Very lush with a solid groove, but at the same time broad and emotive.
