Over the last couple of years, MANT have emerged a duo to be reckoned with. As capable playing muscular tech house as they are classic sounding house sounds and bumping techno, theirs is a way of working that’s endeared them to legions of top class DJs over the last while. One man very much showing his support for the boys of late is Steve Lawler, who’s set to host the lads at the Closing Party for his the final show of his Warriors residency this Sunday, 18th October at Octan. Having released a slew of cuts on MTA Recordas and also collaborated with Solardo, we’re very sure you’ll be hearing much more from them over the next while. On the eve of a seriously seismic date for the lads, we caught up with them as they talked us through their favourite Ibiza cuts. Safe to say this is a pretty classic list!
1. Dirty South “Pyramid” (John Dahlback Remix)
We first heard this in 2009, when it was really popular in workers bars. Still absolutely does the business wherever it’s dropped.
2. Gat Decor “Passion”
What’s left to say about this one? Should be on everyone’s list of Ibiza tracks. An absolute club classic that ages like a fine wine.
3. Solomun “Something We All Adore”
We first heard Solomun playing this in Sankeys before he had any superclub residencies. It’s one of the defining tracks of his rise and a track we always look back on with real fondness.
4. Sebastien Leger “Take Your Pills” (Remix)
This is Sebastien Leger remixing his own track, and the first track which made us fans of his. It was an early influence on the MANT project, no doubt about I.
5. Tensnake “Coma Cat”
Remember hearing this in Es Paradis years back and it
6. Dubfire “Roadkill”
Classic Dubfire… huge.
7. Audion “Mouth To Mouth”
Audion’s an incredible producer and this is one of his best.
8. Booka Shade “In White Rooms”
A deeply emotive track which is an obvious choice, and had to be included.
9. Phuture “Acid Tracks”
Relentless energy and genre defining and still sounds fresh today.
10. F Sonik – “Last Indian Temple”
Pretty sure we heard this for the first time on the Space Terrace. Memories!
MANT play Warriors at Octan Ibiza on 18th August.
