Back To Mine with T3nbears

Late night beats at the best after parties in town

Beginning his musical career playing live music in a number of bands, T3nbears found his feet in the electronic music industry producing in some of the UK’s best studios.  Having helped David Guetta and GLOWINTHEDARK produce the iconic “Ain’t A Party”, the move to collaborate with GLOWINTHEDARK and Radio 1’s Danny Howard on the dancefloor monster ‘MUG’ was a natural progression.  In T3nbear’s ‘Back To Mine’, the young producer’s roots in traditional ‘band music’ are perfectly showcased in a seriously eclectic playlist, enjoy!

1. Klaxons – Golden Skans

One of the biggest and most important songs for me whilst growing up, I’ve been hooked on this band since I found them and they helped me to start experimenting with electronic music and sampling my own voice.

2. The Mars Volta – Goliath

Although this band has its unnecessary extremes in their writing, this will always be somewhat the route of my inspiration to push the boundaries and limits of music today.

3. Battles – Ice Cream

This track was the summer anthem for me in 2011 and stormed across the UK, a softer song from their previous releases but one that sits in a pocket the whole way through.

4. Kavinsky – Nightcall

After being introduced to the film Drive I think I have listened to this song at least 4 times a week since. It’s been a reference for so many of my vocal edits and experimenting with vocoders.

5. This Town Needs Guns – 26 Is Dancier Than 4

Math Rock band in the UK, In these songs there’s no chorus, verse or pattern,  just repeating sections in ever-changing time signatures somehow creating music that’s incredibly catchy and addictive. Again, one of my favourite bands from the UK.

6. The Physics House Band – Titan

Another Math Rock band from Brighton and great friends of mine, this group has ridiculous extremes in their writing but miraculously they churn it into an amazingly crafted piece of art. Another inspiration for me to always remember how to push the boundaries.

7. Kings Of Leon – Back Down South

If there was ever a song you could listen to make you feel good…  This is it.

8. Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait

This is truly where the inspiration for some of the biggest EDM songs today come from, the huge sing-along chorus, complex yet beautiful harmonies and hugely emotional guitar riffs make this band one of the most entertaining live acts I’ve ever seen.

9. Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger

This was what I remember to be the first contemporary song shown to me as a kid, I had grown up on Blues from my Father and been shown all kinds of amazing music, but this song always stood out as ‘an anthem’ in the UK and actually a huge band who everybody talked about.

10.  Arcade Fire – Rebellion (Lies)

Just because I love this track…
