Back To Mine with The Emperor Machine

The best after parties in town

Amon Duul II – Da Guadeloop

I only bought this LP from the local market a few weeks ago.  It’s turned out to be one of my favourite albums of the year, this track especially, plenty of sample fodder too!

Don’t You Know – Jan Hammer Group

I was introduced to this by Raf from the Two Bears earlier this year, I couldn’t believe I had never heard it before, it just melted me straight away! It ticks every box for me especially that synth pattern. We have a Roland System 700 at the llama farm that I’m using to try and replicate the sequence patterns…

20th Century Steel Band – Revival 1976

Find of the week at Katherine House Hospice shop. Really good album if your into funk and steel drums

Playgroup – Deep And Mintyful

From the LP Epic Sound Battles Chapter One. First track side two. One of my favourite Onu Sound LPs, bought this from Collectable Records in my home town on the hunt for some rhythm inspiration.

It’s The Music (Instrumental) – Natural Four

Another good find at Katherine House Hospice Charity shop. This track is from the Lp Night Chaser.

Here & Now – Improvisation

Synths and psychedelic rock in places on this LP. Have used this track on a few mixes in the past. This track improvisation probably has the most synths.

Adrian Wagner – Machu Picchu

More rhythm inspiration from the album Instincts. Amazing track I am really into Adrian Wagner, another good album is “The Last Inca” with a lot more electronics.

Prince Charles and the City Beat Band – Beat the Bush  Instrumental 1982

I have a white label of this 12”, I’m hoping it’s an original 80s promo. Great to play out but one of those hard to mix out of tracks.

Lizard – SA.KA.NA

I only have this track on a compilation album called Mobile Music 1 which I bought while DJing around LA a few years back now, it was one of the tracks that inspired a project I was involved in called Big 200 with Dean Meredith on DC Recordings.

A Certain Ratio – Hot Knights

I was late getting in to the whole ACR thing – but better late than never, the whole LP is amazing if you don’t have it you need it.
