Jonnie Polyester & K-Boys

Jonnie Polyester’s selection:

‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ – The Who (MCA-1970). (Live in Leeds Version)
Has this unbelievable Rhodes organ which builds into the most amazing intro I have ever heard. Considered quite revolutionary at the time.

‘Climatize’ – The Prodigy. (XL 1997)
From the Fat of the Land album & sheer genius. Always reminds me of the film ‘Dune’!

‘As Always’ – Secret Life. (Gospel Mix) (Cowboy 1992)
Proper old school house interpretation of Stevie Wonder’s classic from Pete Heller and Cowboy Records, One of those particular tracks you look for in vain on 12″.

‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ – Pink Floyd (Harvest 1975)
Bit corny, I know, but it left an indelible impression on me the first time I heard it. I was 16 at a mate’s house in Kenilworth, stoned, his parents were away and we were gazing up at the stars on a lovely summer’s evening, the opening synth came from nowhere..quite amazing.

‘Papua New Guinea /Moscow’ – Future Sound Of London.(Cleopatra 1991)
Again another seminal chill out track. First heard at a..ahem.. young lady’s flat in Leeds as a young student after a nite at Basics.

K-Boy’s Selection:

‘Between Blue & Me’ – Family. ( Epic 1972)
Great prog rock from the 70’s when they made real music!

‘Eskimo’ – Damian Rice.(Vector 2003)
A particular favourite of my wife’s!

‘Can’t Get High With Out You’ – Joey Negro. (Z 1996)
One of the many tracks I engineered for Dave Lee at Z records & one of my favourites.

‘Life is What You Make It’ – Talk Talk.(Capitol)
Quite appropriate tune for late nite philosophical discussions!

‘Lucky Man’ – The Verve. (Hut/Virgin 1997)
Much the best track on their Urban Hymns album in my view. Another great song that made me want to learn the guitar part for it straight away!

Jonnie Polyester & K-Boy –  I’m Here Again is released on March 21st on Black Booty
