6 (7) X-PRESS 2, HONEY DIJON AND LEO ZERO – KEEP ON / LET IT SLAM – SKINT

Peak time bumping house that has got that certain X-Press 2 magic and then some, sending the floor into overdrive with a vast amount of ear to ear grins and drink spillage.

X-Press 2, Honey Dijon & Leo Zero - Keep On

7 (8) DAVID LYNCH – THE BIG DREAM – SUNDAY BEST

The legendary film director’s sophomore LP is more complete than his debut, the songs flow together better, they are a bit more out there but in a subtle way, and his vocals have got a certain Daniel Johnston meets Tricky meets Liberace feel about them. Spangled to the max.

David Lynch "Star Dream Girl" (OFFICIAL AUDIO)

8 (11) PRIMAL SCREAM – INVISIBLE CITY – IGNITION

The original mix is a slice of 80’s influenced pop complete with hooky bursts of brass, B52’s guitar riffs and a very catchy chorus. Daniel Avery supplies the remixes and Bobby Gillespie sums this up rather nicely: Summer psyche electro. Sounds like ketamine music to me.

Primal Scream - Invisible City (Official Audio)

9 (6) TOMAS MORE – THE DAY I SPOKE EP – MY FAVORITE ROBOT

The title cut is a superb slab of first rate techno, that boasts strange sounding off kilter rhythmic patterns, working their way around creepy spoken vocals and atmospheric pads, creating the lure of the serial killer. LSD is not advisable.

10 (NEW) EAST VILLAGE – CIRCLES – HEAVENLY

A lovely woozy song full of emotive jangly strumming, from Heavenly dudes Martin Kelly and Spencer Smith alongside band mates Paul Kelly and Johnny Wood. This first saw the light of day in 1991, and now it’s getting a well deserved re-release on 7” vinyl, along with their one & only LP Drop Out. A dusted down unearthed gem.

East Village - Circles

11 (17) JUNGLE – PLATOON / DROPS– CHESS CLUB

This double A-side, rich and sumptuous, electronic, psychedelic groover, with a soulful and slightly bluesy feel, is the mighty fine debut release from a new London outfit, that we are bound to be hearing a lot more of.

12 (15) LOLA COLT – I GET HIGH IF YOU GET HIGH – TOO PURE SINGLES CLUB

Dramatic debut release from London six piece, featuring heavy drums, screeching feedback and snarling female vocals, which have got a certain PJ Harvey meets Julie Driscoll meets Karen O feel. Powerful stuff.

13 (NEW) DJ PIERRE – SAVE OUR WORLD EP – DEEPLAY DIGITAL

The Original Mix is a perky rump shakin’ techno number that just keeps on driving, aided by a call to arms megaphone vocal. Moodmusic head honcho Sasse comes up trumps in the remix department, delivering two electrifying workouts, with smouldering low end 303 and intricate spot on machine percussion, teasing, pleasing and explosive. The Acid Dub takes no prisoners.

14 (NEW) GRAINGERBOY – TRAINSURFING IN TIME AND SPACE – POPCRISIS

Richard Norris in his Time And Space Machine guise remixes Trainsurfing from the Silent Universe EP, creating an atmospheric Balearic disco masterpiece, awash with that certain vibe where everything feels a little bit special. The poncho revival starts here.

Dramatic rolling toms and soaring strings drive angelic vocals, creating a majestic masterpiece from Stockholm.

Sailor & I - Tough Love

16 (NEW) MARIAM THE BELIEVER – INVISIBLE GIVING (PRINS THOMAS DISKOMIX) – MOSHI MOSHI

Mariam Wallentin is better known as one half of Scandinavian pop duo Wildbirds And Peacedrums. Here she ventures out on her own, creating a positive and forceful song with her powerful vocals. Prins Thomas cooks up intoxicating rhythms and a heady brew. The result is reminiscent of DFA’s The Gossip at their best.

17 (9) LOUIE FRESCO FT. LUNA – AUTOPHOBIA – No.19

The title cut from the Mexican producer’s forthcoming debut LP is an enticing, seductive and mesmerising affair, slowly building with heavy bass, rich atmospherics, subtle percussive dubs and Luna’s enchanting yet slightly tortured vocals. Massive Attack comes to mind. Art Department and Eric Volta take it to the dancefloor.

18 (19) JONO MCCLEERY – BALLADE – NINJA TUNE

Soulful electronics in a magic garden, with warm Stevie Wonder like chords and a vocal delivery not too far removed from Bill Withers. Djrum steps it up for the dancefloor with shuffling rhythms and deep emotive pads.

Jono McCleery - 'Ballade' (Djrum Remix)

19 (24) YOUNGTEE – GET DEEPER – SOUTHERN FRIED

Five cuts jam packed with classic and familiar samples, that have had the nip n tuck & loop n tweak treatment, then carefully worked in and around infectious funky grooves.

20 (23) STUBBORN HEART – PENETRATE / NIGHTHAWKS – ONE LITTLE INDIAN

22 (21) GABRIEL MILLER PHILLIPS – ONE FOR THE CROW – WHYTEHOUSE

A lovely fat slab of swirling electronic disco, shot through with blazing feel good sunshine vibes, bringing Avalanches and Kidda to mind. Barker & Baumecker and Bibio serve up a nice couple of mixes.
