Coincidentally been recently listening to Charles Webster’s genre defining three CD mix for Defected from 2008 so it’s another equal pleasure to introduce this latest from the superlative producer. Comprising of various new re-edits, remixes and previously unreleased material this retrospective only serves to highlight the ingenuity of one of Dance music’s finest. From the instrumental energy rush of ‘22 Minutes’ through to the soaring vocals of ‘I Am The Sun’ featuring Cathy Batistessa the music all about depth and emotion rather than quick fixes for the dancefloor, and as such is very much a cut above. From his earliest work such as Furry Phreaks ‘Gonna Find A Way’ you can trace that thread in the music and the qualities that make it so relevant to today via a number of 2013 re-edits including the particularity invigorating Presence ‘Giving Love’. Always quality.
