DMC launched the first World DJ Championships back in 1985 when a young Londoner called Roger Johnson stepped up to take the trophy home. America’s DJ Cheese followed up in 1986 when bringing the best out of the turntables by scratching his way to the coveted title and suddenly every DJ on the planet wanted the DMC golden prize. Chad Jackson left The Royal Albert Hall mesmerized, Cash Money flew in from Philadelphia to show the way forward – they call him old skool these days, back then he was simply new skool. Since then giants of the Turntablist scene have walked up and mixed their way to glory. Q-Bert, A-Trak, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Craze, The Scratch Perverts, DJ Kentaro, C2C and DJ Shiftee all amongst the glorious World Champions.
And now, fresh for 2016 DMC are proud to announce a new global touring event…The DMC Champions World Tour featuring World Champions, Team Champions, Beatboxers and VISUAL DJs in a variety of line ups hitting clubs and festivals throughout this year and beyond. And who better than to headline our first dates than our main man from Miami who rocked up in the late 90s…DJ Craze!! The legend who took an amazing three consecutive titles back to South Beach in 1998, 1999 and 2000. The era is known as The Craze Block in turntable quarters and it’s a feat that has never been equaled. You ready to party? Check out the first set of DMC nights here…
