Trainspotting with Luke Solomon

Big tunes form the big hitters..

Friends EP – Seven Davis JNR – Classic
Seven Davis is one of my favourite thing to happen to dance music in recent years. Soulful, forward thinking and downright funky.
Set to massive things, and massively honoured to have him as part of Derrick Carter and my label.

Jungle Line (Dungeon Meat remix) – Sundowners feat. Mystic Bill – Classic
Two incredibly talented producers, also on course to do great things. Remixing a classic from the early 90’s to devastating effect. Simple, funky – but awesome.

Wake Up (Oliver $ remix) – Freaks – Rebirth
Taken from the new Freaks album that is out now on Rebirth. A cover of Ian Dury’s Wake up and Make Love to me, remixed by men of the moment, Oliver $ and Jimi Jules. Stripped back to a grooving drum work out with lots of the original music – a proper remix.

Butterflies – Leon Vynehall – Clone Royal Oak
Have been keeping my eye on this man for a while now after a tip off from Chris Coco. His musically is gradually becoming more and more accomplished – and this is a real sign of what is to come. 2 track EP on the fantastic label that is Clone. Proper deep house from days of old with a contemporary production sound. Killer.

E4 Love – 2 Bitches from Queens – Hot Records
2 of my favourite producers behind a couple of cheeky new singles under the guises of 2 Bitches from Queens. Some vinyl only business here – but masterfully replayed cover of the seminal classic E2 E4 mashed with a recognisable baseline. Brilliantly done.

Dance Dance Dance (Luke Solomon re-edimix) – The Central Executives – Golf Channel
A track from my favourite album of the year so far. Again some secret squirrel production going on here.
This is my favourite track from the album – and I am honoured to be allowed to touch it – but with the greatest of respect have just edited it slightly. Modern New York disco business.

Endless Love – Joe Goddard – Greco Roman
A brand new single from Joe. Featured on my recent radio show. This is set to be an absolute monster with huge crossover appeal. Two incredibly infectious vocal hooks and that unmistakable sound of a very talented man.

One Two Three – Herbert – Accidental
The world sees the return of Herbert with a four track EP that mimics the format of his earlier releases. Having taken time out to perform live with a babe orchestra and record some pigs – Matthew gets back to the dance floor where the dance floor has been missing him. Wonderful vocal and a wonderful end of night record.

You Deal – JM Jackmaster – Isseys Groove Recordings
I don’t know a huge amount about this producer or this record or the label even. What I do know is that I played it thinking it was something else – and bang – it went bananas. Stipped back driving groove with some weird sounds in. Made for me I reckon.

Body Movement – Luke Solomon feat. Nick Maurer – Classic
The second of 2 singles I have made thus far with x Greenskeeper Nick Maurer.
This time we worked towards pushing the envelope as far as possible. One of the most energetic records I have made – so much so, that I am a little scared of it. Played it out though – crowd got scared and danced a lot.
