The once Crazy Penis, are now just plain old Crazy P and the name change seems to suit them if the follow-up to last year’s acclaimed ‘24 Hour Psychedelic Freakout’ is anything to go by. Another beautifully constructed soundscape of Balearic-kissed beats (‘Bumcop’ and ‘Cruising’), rolling dance grooves (‘Sun-Science’) and dreamy chilled numbers (‘Warm On The Inside’) sound more delicious with each successive play, yet again demonstrate why we’ve previously called them the most exciting band to emerge from the British dance scene since Massive Attack. The single, ‘Lady T’, with abstract lyrics and acid-etched beats is implausibly relaxed, while the ‘80s feel of ‘Music’s My Love’ and ‘Kicks’, grooving to Dannielle Moore’s lead, once more aptly highlight the Nottingham combo’s sharp production savvy and musical flare.
