ELLIS ISLAND SOUND
THE GOOD SEED
PEACEFROG

This is the first Ellis Island Sound album proper, a patchwork of acoustic instruments recorded in deepest East Anglia. It has a lovely open air feel, with blissful loops spreading out like ripples on water in tracks like ‘Density Ratio’, while ‘The Waveney Waltz’ offers a good example of their eye for a good tune. There’s not a bass drum in sight here – they couldn’t fit it in the car! – but that makes for an airy sound, with the blends of guitar, ukelele, harmonium and kitchen sink (OK, so I made that bit up) serving up a subtle treat.
