OF MONTREAL
THE SUNLANDIC TWINS
THE TRACK & FIELD ORGANISATION

Sounding more European than their name implies (they’re not actually from Canada either), Of Montreal’s seventh album is quirky, guitar-electronica geek-rock/retro pop, easy-on-the-ear folly from a bunch of cheeky dandies with a thing for remarkable titles (‘Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games’ particularly rolls off the tongue), and isolated breakouts taking leave of previous senses (‘October is Eternal’) ‘Reprobate Immortals’ has a certain Queen-Keane flex to it, ‘I was Never Young’ has a Mexican wave flowing through it, and ‘Twins’ runs its course with the blithe energy of a Sunny Delight-guzzling kid.
