REPHLEX

Good to see some heavy duty Detroit action popping up on what is normally a home for eccentric and groundbreaking UK electronic exponents. Last year’s Authorised Clinical Trials album was a great way to welcome back Sherard Ingram, one of the originals who’d first impressed with ‘Covert Action’ on Retroactive in 1990 before going appearing in the New Electronica series and popping up on MoWax. The man is a fearless electro pioneer with impeccable credentials, being also known as Drexciyan DJ Stingray. He steers a course away from clichés, preferring to set up wired pulses, static drones and weird alien textures, creating an engrossing series of  unsettling future scapes in the process.
