Various Artists – All Gone Pete Tong & Hot Since 82 Ibiza 2015 – (ITH)

Pete Tong’s annual onceover of Ibiza is all the more effective because he does it in tandem with one of the big names of the year – and this time he’s struck gold with Hot Since 82. Described by Tong as ‘one of the most exciting underground electronic talents to emerge from the UK over the past five years’, the Yorkshireman includes a good deal of music from his Knee Deep in Sound label, including his own ‘State’ to wrap things up. It’s well paced and really well mixed, peaking around Deelo’s ‘Mr House’, Deetron’s ‘Orange’ and the Roland Clark, Paul C & Paolo Martini collaboration ‘Take Some House’. Tong, meanwhile, showcases ‘Phoenix’, his new one with John Monkman, as part of a typically strong mix that starts broadly and relatively slowly before building through Fur Coat’s ‘Pankhow’, Nick Curly’s ‘Rack and Run’ and the Disciples remix of Azari & III’s ‘Reckless (With Your Love’). If you’re on the White Island at all towards the end of this summer, make sure you take this with you.
