The release of a Psychemagik compilation is always something to shout about, because it is always a document made by obsessive record collectors to share with equally obsessive record collectors! Which is a good thing of course, because it means we get introduced to great music – which here means a good bout of laid back, feel good vibes. After John Keating goes ‘In Search of Atlantis’ we have the first gem of the collection, Orchester Ambros Seelos’ shimmering ‘Mondgesicht’, a great bit of easy funk. Then we get to enjoy the loping beat of the easy going Francis Lai track ‘Young Freedom’, or the richly textured ‘Idolo Moresco’ of Fabio Fabor, to highlight just a few, but in reality the quality threshold is high throughout, making this a rich mine of rarities I’ll bet you haven’t heard before. With this you really can freshen up your record collection.
