This was released just towards the end of last year but is still well worth highlighting as a compilation to own, especially if you want the party to continue once you get home. Spinna’s collection of full on vocal tracks and more stripped back dubs is a winner, with some crafty re-edits and subtle mixes making things blend together nicely. Foxy’s ‘Tena’s Song’ and Mtume’s ‘So You Wanna Be A Star’ are two of the bigger vocals here, livening up proceedings, while few tracks feel the funk as effortlessly as Community People’s ‘Education Rap’. Add to this productions by War, Jan Leslie Holmes and Captain Rapp and you have a winner to keep you grooving into the early hours.
