It comes as some relief to hear Swiss music virtuoso Disco Channel’s enticing, delicately framed vocals spin out across deeply soulful keys accompanied by sensual strings. It certainly makes a refreshing change. Indeed, it’s hard – if not impossible – to not to fall for ‘Eyes In Eyes’ either musically or as a song. Jamie Jones follows with a tougher version which reworks the melodies over frisky percussion plus throbbing bass. Next is Coyu who injects the vocal with pulsating tribal rhythms and buzzing electronics, while Lee Foss lets rip via sizzling syncopation giving the track yet another teasing angle. As indeed does Filsonik who pumps up the tempo to feverish Acid/ Techno levels of intensity. One of my favourite releases from the label so far.
