Roger me senseless with a large baguette if it isn’t John Foxx, the bloke who predated all this new robo-man stuff 30 years ago when he formed Ultravoxx and got in there first with electro-pop. A figure of fun to the punks but now suitably quoted as a prime instigator in things electronic.
This third single from the Dulaizm album is suitably cold and breathy with sombre backing and catchy chorus. Finland’s Jussi Pekka turns in a dubby tech-house remix. There’s also a fantastic bonus track in leaping Detroit-tinged techno outing ‘Pajatso’, which reaches a euphoric peak via its upreaching strings and bodes brilliantly for the prolific bugger’s next album.
