VECTOR LOVERS
BOULEVARD EP
SOMA

The first taste of Martin Wheeler’s second album spanks his unique take on the electronic monkey into even more expansive realms. After first establishing a glacial electro blueprint, he’s now delved even further into the possibilities of subtlety and atmosphere, this time orchestrating the sonic architecture on a muted four-four beat. For nearly ten minutes he builds an ethereal, gorgeous epic. There’s also an extended version of ‘Tokyo Glitterati’ from the first album, which is now familiar thanks to the BMW ads. The EP is completed with the melancholy beauty of ‘Onsen’, which was previously only available on the CD only Iwari.com compilation Our Friends Electric. Like his label-mate Alex Smoke, Martin is progressing at a rate that can only be described as terrifying and I can’t wait for the next ferret down the boxers.
