There’s something rather special about Suruba’s thirty third ep that sets it apart and places it in a groove of its very own design. The end result is the combining of sensuous, chiming atmospheres alongside richly dark basslines, which feel all at once uplifting, yet most definitely hard-hitting in scope. Add to that an endless array of stunning sound effects plus haunting voices and this certainly qualifies as one of the more imaginative productions around. The not so subtle ‘One-eyed Willie’ follows with moody, squelchy bass and further unsettling vocal edits that punctuate the rhythm with a fiery sense of energy. The fine Amine Edge & DANCE remix then completes the EP with shuffling sounds and beats along with fizzy euro-tinged stabs.
