Feeling distinctly X-Rated Dan Ghenacia & Chris Carrier’s smokin’ new grooves for Adult Only are of course just this side of first rate. Diego Krause attacks the title track with an edgy verve that sequences gritty beats together with dark, unrelenting layers of sound which does not leave a lot to the imagination. Meanwhile, the original version itself blends crisp, fiery 909 hi-hats, nagging synthesizers and throbbing bass into one excitable arrangement while not pausing for breath. Second track and for me the highlight, ‘The 2nd Degree’ pumps up the bassline via addictive House percussion while working the rhythms into a frenzied, though happy, distraction.
