The latest from Purp & Soul once again sees the label reactivate the senses from mind to body with this energized production form Harry Wolfman & Jouhl hitting the spot. It’s all contained within the infectious vocal edits, throbbing bass and warped keys which combine into the fierce workout of ‘Friend Within’. Next ‘High Fidelity’ gets deeper with atmospheric sounds layering up against undulating bass and smoky vocals, while the EP’s title track feels effortlessly funky with its loose arrangement of vocal snippets and shuffling percussion again hitting hard. The commanding James Welsh remix finishes off impressively with strident beats playing alongside moody keys that sound particularly enticing.
