Prodigal German producer Perel has not been in the game all that long, but with her releases up to now, she has gained a wholly deserved level of recognition and following from some of the biggest names on the scene. One of those names is Darius Syrossian. Invited to release on his DO NOT SLEEP label, we are now presented with the end product – ‘Charles Manson’. Granted it’s an unusual choice of name, but there is nothing weird about the eponymous title track. This is pure, main room, peak time house. “What’s your name? My name is…” rolls over an infectious bass line, the kind that fills a dance floor like there’s no tomorrow. Label boss Darius remixes the original, bringing the tempo down simultaneously taking the track a whole lot deeper. Layering the bass line with hollow percussive sounds, we’re now presented with the sort of groovy house for which we know Darius so well. This is a quality cut, one that is sure to fire Perel into stardom, as she gains more and more recognition from her peers. We can’t wait to see what more she has in store for us.
