Appearing on the always excellent No.19 imprint is a good choice for this Ralph Lawson project which also involves the creative talents of Carl Finlow, Tuccillo and Debukas. The Vocal Mix begins with infectious beats and bass that soon evolve with the addition of warm piano chords plus Debukas breathy, soulful vocals which lend the production an inviting sense of melody. The Far Away Dub highlights the funkier synth lines on offer, while Ralph Lawson’s own Rise Up Dub sequences 90’s drums together with punchy stabs for full effect with more vocals appearing on the 2020 Vision remix. An instrumental is on offer too, but when the vocal and synths simmer as they do together it’s perhaps not a difficult choice to make.
