Tom Ellis – The Maybe Logic EP – Organic-Music

Ever get the feeling you have heard something before. Well thankfully that’s not really the case here as these three briskly original pieces of music from Tom Ellis daringly invite you to journey into the unknown. I like the fact that you can’t quite pinpoint exactly what makes this tick but then the aptly titled, ‘Need No Reason’ contains the telling line: we don’t need no reason to clap your hands. Dark, twisted and definitely funky rhythms drive this along coupled by that addictive vocal, and perhaps that is all you do need to know in the end. Leif provides an excellent remix by twisting both the bassline and mood further still. Leaving, ‘After The Rote’ and the irresistible, ‘Paints’ which contains some rather touching, melancholy piano chords to offset it all perfectly.
