Andy Weatherall mix albums are like London buses, and this is the second one to come along recently. It’s hats off to Fabric for securing a typically inventive set of house, techno, electro and pretty much everything else in the Weatherall kitchen sink. There are vivid contrasts throughout, with Alexkid’s chic ‘Don’t Hide It’ smothered in synths at the end, the syncopated beats of Steve Bug’s ‘That Kid’ eclipsed by a monster riff, and the closing twosome that evoke strong memories of Manchester – the Swordsmen on the mix of Ricardo Villalobos and Technova’s ‘Atmosphere’. Captivating stuff.
