Supernova are bosses of their own label Lapsus. Ahead of the world’s biggest dance music conference in ADE they put together a sampler of their wares. It is jam packed with 12 brand new and never before heard cuts that all offer up slightly different tech house styles. Audio Junkies, Qubiko, Sante Sansone, Atove, Markus Klee, Nils Twachtmann & Thabo Getsome, Emanuele Inglese, 2 Sides OF Soul, Rafa Ristallo, Dj Freespirit and Dj Vitto all feature amongst others.
It is actually the bosses themselves who kick things off and they do so with their Don’t Stop tune. It is six minutes of wonky tech with dark vocals and fluid drums. Elsewhere Dark Sparks from AudioJunkies and Romrez is slower and more seductive, deeper and more elegant with great synths rising up and down the scale in decaying fashion. For harder hitting beats check Qubiko’s rock solid house effort Tornera and then old school flavours ooze from Sante Sansone – Where love Lives.
Elsewhere the likes of Markus Klee with Navito really makes a mark with his fresh perspective and Black Marimba from Emanuele Ingleese then settles down into a deeper and more sedate house groove but one that is just as compelling. Closing out the second half of the compilation is the likes of 2 Sides of Soul with Wanna Be and Freespirit with Precious. Each to their own comes correct with a tasteful take on house that is new and exciting.
This compilation proves that this great label has a big pool of talent to chose from. Each one has their own style and slant on things and all in all that makes for a solid collection that will be like bait to any dancers and should make for essential tools for any top DJ.
