Harlem
Hippies
Matador

Harlem are a new and exciting outfit from the The States, Michael Coomers and Curtis O’Mara both take the lead and swap vocals, guitars & drums amongst themselves. The duo have just recently grown into a trio with the addition of bass player Jose Boyer, giving a fuller sound. “Hippies” is Harlem’s stunning debut LP for Matador Records, it’s 16 fun fuelled trashy pop songs with fantastic lyrics, melody’s and hooks. The opening track “Someday Soon” has got a certain early Fab Four feel to it, but it’s messy and sounds like it’s being played in a sweaty basement with loads of punters going nuts, while the singer pours his soul out, you just wish you was there. And that’s just for starters. Harlem could become a bit of a global phenomenon, they’ve definitely got something a bit special going on.
