You can’t hold a dance anthem down – which is fully deserving of the “anthem” accolade when Homer Simpson and the steel workers of America immortalise your tune! ‘Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)’, Clivilles & Cole’s debut from 1990, is abridged to just ‘Sweat’ on this re-issue which sticks incredibly close the Original with Freedom Williams updating his rap to now mention the likes of “mp3s” in his wordy rhymes. R&B and urban mixes are also joined by New Jersey’s Cheyne Christain’s house mixes (both rooted in percussive tribalism) that have been doing the rounds since 2003’s Winter Music Conference when the likes of Danny Tenaglia and Tom Stephan first championed his murky reproduction.
