Brian Coxx

1. The Wizard Brian Coxx – My Dream (Acapella) – Strictly Rhythm
This originally came out on my Soulgasm Sessions Vol. 1 EP back in May of 09 on Strictly Rhythm. It’s now available for everyone to ride over any track thanks to the Defected Acapellas series. Sometimes you have to explain it to them.

2. Kasper Bjorke – Alcatraz (Jimpster Dub) – Push Communications
Jimpster has had my attention for a while now. This one’s just plain nasty. Driving, non stop, teched out, deep funky house. Towards the end he drops these chords that I can’t even explain. Drop the “My Dream” acapella over this and minds will be blown. I’ve seen it happen.

3. The Wizard Brian Coxx – Everything (Deep Dub) – Soulgasm Music
This is the first release on my new label. It features New York native Sandy Spady on vocals. You may remember her from the track ‘Killing Me’ which was also from my Soulgasm Sessions Vol.1 on Strictly. This one’s a bit more abstract on the vocal and opens your mind a bit more to think. The deep dub is my favorite cause never lets up taking you on a trip. No-brainer on this version. Real clean sound. Out now

4. La India – Love and Happiness [Yemaya Y Ochun] (David Penn Vocal Mix) – Strictly Rhythm
Sometimes when you take em real deep you have to bring them back with somethin they all know. Well who doesn’t know this one? Love how Strictly’s been remixing all the old classics, giving them new life. This David Penn version I’m feelin the most. Mad energy.

5. Jungle Juice – Egyptian Magician (David Tort Nitelife Edit) – Nervous Records
A reason to play that old Kevin Fischer ‘Women Beat Their Men’ beat, this time with some egyptian madness over it. Lots of stuff you can do with this… loop it and have fun with the beat. Big shout out to Nervous records.

6. Gummihz – Just Got – Real Tone Records
Here’s one for when the circle starts. The real dancers will go nuts to this and the regular party people can go to the bar and have a drink. Much respect to Franck Roger and his label, Real Tone Records. I’ve been supporting this label for years now. They’re one of the labels that put deep tech house on the map and never let up.

7. Underground Solution feat. Jasmine – Luv Dancin (Harry Choo Choo Romero’s B-Boy Drumz) – Strictly Rhythm
One more for the circle dancers and the veteran party people. Another remix of a classic for the true house heads. Nice to see Harry stay true to his roots on this one. Nice and simple mix.

8. N’dinga Gaba feat. Scotty P – Queen (The Wizard Brian Coxx Remix) – Sole Channel Records
Since Sole Channel is one of my favorite labels I asked Mr. V if I could do a remix for him. He said “Yes, go through my catalog and pick out a track.” I picked ‘Queen’ cause I loved the sound of Scotty P’s voice. I put a nice deep, techy beat behind it for my version and then Frankie Feliciano did a super dope House version as well making it a hit for Sole Channel.

9. Grand High Priest – Mary Mary (Grand High Priest Vocal Mix) – Nu-Bang Records
An absolute monster jam! Straight up dope House that will work for any crowd anywhere in the world. If it doesn’t work, fuck em it will get you in a good mood.

10. DJN Project – Take You Away (The Wizard Brian Coxx Remix) – Vega records
Nice track to smooth things out. It’s got an R&B type vocal with a deep-techy type groove. Big record for Louie.
