Trainspotting with Eugene Glasgow

Big tunes from the big hitters…

Kicking things off for the brand new MustHaveSoul label!…

01. Louie Vega “You are Everything” – Vega Records
We grew up to the sounds of MAW; the melodies, the vocals, the drums from Kenny. Jocelyn’s vocals along with musical mastermind Louie setting the scene here; another slice of New York City soul. I don’t necessarily play all Louie,  Kenny’s music in “a set” but it’s in the car and the library. Anytime, anywhere. “You are everything” 10/10 again

02. Eugene Glasgow “I’ll Do Anything” – Must Have Soul
Second track of my Someday EP forthcoming on Must Have Soul. This is my favourite of the two tracks. The feedback has been inspiring, thankful to MHS and those supporting.

03. James Johnson “Nervous Glamour” – Closer to Truth
James’ tracks have long been part of my sets and library; “Nervous Glammer” doing what Mr Johnson does so well; deep, soul house music.

04. Adesse Versions “Thank U” – Local Talk
Favourite track of this EP. It reminds of some of HNNY’s output on Local Talk, not too much going on; what is there results in something kind of hazy, deep and soulful. Great vocal too! Released some weeks ago but to be played for many more and beyond.

05. KRL “You Brought Me” – Wolf Music
KRL returns and doesn’t disappoint, “You Brought Me” is my favourite from Wolf EP032; the vocal calling from the centre of the room sits nice over the organ like chords.

06. Nacho Marco “Outside” – Madhouse
Nacho ever consistent, rolls out one of my favourite breaks to a chord progression that lends itself to many classics out there. Love this

07. VasQ “Sonntag” Eugene Glasgow Dub/Remix – 247 House
A label showing good form with some great artists getting involved, this is a remix I did for VasQ, taking a deeper approach to the original and punch up the drums a little. Forthcoming on 247.

08. Tommy Vicari Jnr. “Threshold of Eternity” – Robsoul
Very nice this, understated with a piano riff looping along to a shuffling, bumpy rhythm; raw, funky and well produced with that.

09. Chris Stussy “Everybody”- Large Music
Chris rocking some great filter action on the guitar/riff and those drums are right up my street; a track to break up the mix or build up the night.

10. Billy Butler, Mike Jones, Dean Bailey “Trust Me” – Free Download
Raw cut from these guys and a free download too! Loud and proud at 2 am, big room and this will do the business. Nice vocal edits gents.

‘Someday EP’ is on full release December 21st 2015 on MustHaveSoul.
