Trainspotting with The Sonic Emporium

Big tunes from the big hitters…

Thomas Schumacher Every Little Piece ‘Hot Since 82 Remix’ (Electric Ballroom)

Without doubt, the one track I play right now that gets everyone going, setting the pace for the night ahead.  Not ashamed to say I’m incredibly envious about just how good a job Hot Since 82 did on this!

George Fitzgerald Every Inch ‘Deetron Remix’ (Hypercolour)
Think I first heard Deetron on Mary Anne Hobbs’ ‘Breezeblock’ show in the late 90’s and have remained a fan since. This is a tremendous Techno re-rub of the also very smashing George Fitzgerald.

Pépé Bradock Life (Atavisme)
Over a decade old now, but never tire of it.  ‘Deep Burnt’ rightly caught people¹s attention on a grand scale, this one though took a very clever sample and fashioned a consummate Deep House beast.

The Sonic Emporium Once Is Over (Pictogramme)
OK, I’m shamelessly blowing my own trumpet here.  Due out in the summer, it¹s happily proven to be quite the head turner when I’ve been playing it out.

Ultraista Gold Dayzz ‘Chvrches Remix’ (I Am Fortified)
Both Ultraista and Chvrches deliver very different takes on Electronic music, but both knock out spectacular results. This mix is a marriage made in Synthpop heaven.

The Sonic Emporium Ciao! ‘Clarke Sawkill Remix’ (Join Our Club)
No apologies for another of mine, but this is more for Clarke¹s work on it – a lush, dreamy House cut with a fantastically propulsive build.  Quite the game changer on the dance floor when timed right.

Call Super Threshing Floor (Houndstooth)
Dark and off kilter electronics, ‘The Staircase EP’ got me hooked, this growler takes you off on a right old night drive.

Nightworks Long Forgotten Boy ‘Erol Alkan’s Extended Rework’ (Phantasy)
Erol Alkan is a master.  He keeps dance floors packed and his peers on the back foot.  This is going to get played all summer long and you’ll still keep on requesting it.

Cle The Jam (Local Talk)
Mad Mats and Tooli have distilled all their experience and love of House music to create a label with an unmatched level of quality. This is a timeless and tasty piano House anthem.

Stabber Huh! (Halocyan)
Unnerving synth stabs, rave flourishes and precision breaks this slightly terrifying little number makes you want to pop, shake and poo your pants, all at the same time.
