It’s great news that Ralph Lawson is putting out more and more music. Here he does so with Rui-Z, and as you would expect from the 2020 Vision boss and long time Back to Basics resident, they offer up essential and timeless house sounds that will get any floor moving. Up first, Acid Love is a sensuous and slow burning but firing acid cut with lovestruck vocals and a classic 303 line ripping up the rubber drums. A dub is also included without the vocals so you can drop the heavy drums and watch them do damage. The other Ralph original is Jack You, a track with pinging kick drums and razor sharp hi hats. Jack vocals add real raw energy and this is a fun and functional track to make a big impact. The Denney remix layers in a bubbling acid line beneath icy hi hats. It’s slinky and effective when paired with the busy drums and finishes off a fine release.
