Grum

1. Friendly Fires – Paris (Aeroplane Remix) [XL Recordings]
One of the first tunes that got me into the new Balearic sound.  I’m pretty sure it’ll become a classic in a few years time.  The extra female vocal just elevates it to a whole new level.

2. Depeche Mode – People are People [Mute]
This track was the theme tune for a kids TV programme called It’ll Never Work, which I used to watch when I was younger.  I loved it and only found out years later that it was actually Depeche Mode – genius!

3. Fleetwood Mac – Everywhere [Warner Bros Records]
I love Fleetwood Mac…this is such an incredibly feel good tune.  Amazing vocal harmonies.

4. Mr. Flagio – Take a Chance [ZYX Records]
My all time favourite Italo Disco record.

5. Duran Duran – Girls on Film [EMI]
This was on an Erol Alkan mixmag CD years ago…it really opened my eyes/ears to the new wave electro sound around at the time.  Great chorus to sing when you’re drunk too.

6. VillA – Agneta [White Label]
Great re-edit of Wrap Your Arms Around Me by Abba’s Agnetha Faltskog.  Epic and cheesy.  Brill.

7. Talking Heads – Naïve Melody [Sire Records Company]
Apparently this song came about when the members of Talking Heads decided to swap instruments for fun, and jam.  Simple but catchy, one of my all time favourites.

8. Anoraak – Nightdrive With You [Endless Summer Recordings]
Great nighttime driving poppy electro from a current artist.  I loved it so much I asked if I could remix it.

9. Chris Rea – Josephine (Version Longue) [Magnet]
Real warmth and emotion to this record…Balearic classic!  This dubbed out extended version is heavenly.

10. Baltimora – Tarzan Boy [EMI]
A bit of 80’s fun.  This brings back memories of playing in Derry where a certain promoter has this as his ringtone…
